Everyone loves to spend some time in the open outdoors, but most of us are not very careful when trampling around. Poison ivy flourishes in areas that are usually up north where a lot of campgrounds and hiking trails are found. If you have discovered an issue with this particular plant, these home remedies are surely going to come in handy!
The first step that you need to take is learning about the actual plant. There are many plants out there that can cause itching and redness, so make sure you can identify which one is which. Poison ivy usually has white flowers and the leaves contain the actual poison. Stay away from large brushes of these plants so that you can keep from getting itchy and red.
As soon as you know you have run into some poison ivy you need to rinse your clothes off. This is usually done outside before you get into the house. Try not to touch any part of your body and have a friend rinse you down outside with all of your clothes on. This will enable you to hopefully stop the poison from spreading.
You should also make sure that you take a nice hot shower after you have gotten rid of your contaminated clothing. Try to throw your clothes in the wash and make sure that you wash every part of your body. Unscented soap will work best; perfumes will often irritate the skin even more. Try yourself off and make sure to put on clean clothes.
A small bottle of rubbing alcohol is a great tool to have on you when you venture out into the local wild. Many hikers will carry this on them, simply because it can alleviate any pain and itching that you might suffer from when you brush up against a poison ivy plant. This home remedy is very common in homes today and if you do not have your own bottle, you can find one for less than $2 at your local drugstore.
Oatmeal today is not just for small children with a bad case of the chicken pox. In fact, many adults will use this ingredient in a hot bath to help get rid of the pain and itchiness that the poison ivy plant causes. Keep in mind, this poison is often found within the leaves so make sure that you steer clear!
You can always use aloe vera on a number of ailments including sun burns and poison ivy infections. This is a topical gel that is all natural and found at local drug stores for as little as $3 per bottle. Make sure that you have a couple of bottles in your cabinets in the event that someone does get into some trouble.
When it comes to poison ivy, you can usually treat it with at least 2 or 3 different remedies at a time. Chose a couple of them and see which ones actually have the highest success rate on your skin. Once you run into the plant the first time, you should know what to watch out for in the future!

Poison ivy around the home or on your property is a problem that requires immediate attention. This is no ordinary plant, it requires some extensive precautions to rid yourself of it. You will probably want to speak with a professional landscaper or gardener before starting to gain their input as well.
There is a very serious warning that you should absolutely heed. Never ever burn it. It is very dangerous and can bring serious harm to yourself and anyone nearby. The rash that you see on your skin after touching it, will actually form inside your lungs once inhaling the fumes from it. This can mean lots of trouble, and a possible public health hazard depending on where you are.
This is a very hearty and resilient plant and you will not be able to kill it off with just anything. What you will need to use is a very strong, concentrated herbicide. Though you will dilute it some with water, it will still need to be at least three to four times as strong as normally recommended. Be very careful to not get any of it on yourself, or on any surrounding plants as any plant that it touches will die.
When you do this be sure to cover up as much as possible. Reduce the amount of exposed skin. Dress appropriately and protectively. Both the plant and the herbicide could potentially give a serious rash. When you are done you want wash very thoroughly.
Take the weather into account when you are planning to do this. You need to make sure that it won’t be raining, or windy. The rain could dilute the herbicide and make all of your hard work and efforts ineffective. The wind could spread the herbicide beyond the area you’re focusing on, killing other plants that you don’t want killed. Fair or mild weather is an absolute must for this task.
Once you get it all sprayed it will actually be a few weeks before you are able to notice the results. If it has worked then you’ll see the leaves turn yellow and shrivel. Once you see this happen then it is time to finish the job. You will have to dress protectively again and remove all of the plants remains from the area. It is very important that you dig and get all of the roots as well. Any left behind will mean that they will only grow back.
Don’t forget, even the bare branches and dead stalks can produce a rash if you come in contact with it. Just a small brush against it can be dangerous for some people with an allergic reaction to it. This is why dressing protectively is so very important.
Once you have dealt with the problem, you want to check the area periodically. Poison Ivy is extremely persistent and has a habit of coming back over and over again. You will have to keep a very close eye on it for several years to come. This is a problem that you want to deal with promptly, as soon as you notice it. The bigger it gets the harder it is to get rid of.
Are you looking for answers? Is poison ivy contagious? How do you get rid of poison ivy? All this can be answered through using the net for you’re self. Websites on the net provide valuable information that can be helpful.

Call it a sign of the times: every day, thousands of homes are being repossessed by banks and sold to the highest bidder. Some of them are real junkers but many of these foreclosure homes are in excellent condition and are priced WAY below market value. With a little patience and the right help – and the guidelines below – you could be well on your way to homeownership for a lot less than you could have imagined a few years ago.
1. Be Prepared – Banks want to sell their foreclosures as fast as they can. In order to do this, they make their homes the cheapest on the street – and their strategy works. Most bank-owned properties sell in the first 30 days of being on the market. Make sure you are ready with a mortgage pre-approval or bank statement showing available funds when the house you like comes on the market.
2. Do Not Be Afraid To Get Your Hands Dirty – Some foreclosures are in great condition but, by and large, you are going to have to invest some sweat equity to get your new home habitable. Do not let the cosmetics scare you away; look for strong structural components like good floorplans, great neighborhoods (remember: location, location, location), and newer roofs. You can change the carpet – you cannot move your house.
3. Know Your House Inside and Out – The whole idea behind buying a foreclosure is to save money, right? Then spend a little extra up front – on the home inspection. Banks make no representations (or guarantees) about the properties they sell and they are not liable for repairs after closing. Get the best inspector you can afford and look for things that might be costly trouble down the road. To save money, do your due diligence.
4. The Asking Price Is Often Very Close To The Selling Price – A really common misconception is that banks will take huge cuts in their asking prices for every foreclosure. Much of the time, this is wrong, wrong, wrong. Banks have specific guidelines about what they will and will not accept and they know that if you do not buy it today then someone else will look tomorrow. This is especially true with homes that have a lot of appeal. If you really like your house, make a reasonable offer and BUY it!
5. Most Importantly, Use a Realtor. The right agent can let you know about new foreclosure properties that fit your needs as soon as they come on the market, not to mention help you navigate the mountains of paperwork and negotiate a better price with the bank. The agent will also have the working knowledge to help you avoid buying a lemon. And, best yet, the realtor is free to you because the bank pays the commission.
It is really tough to be a seller right now – you cannot compete with the banks. If, however, you are thinking about buying a property, then there has not been a time like this to buy in decades. With home prices and interest rates at all time lows (but interest rates are rising!), homeownership is easier than it ever will be again for qualified buyers.

Should any business not maintain the right temperature levels in their computer room then this will result in the failure of equipment inside long before it should happen. So it is vital that the business maintains a good amount of cool air is circulating around the room as this will not only increase the equipments lifespan but also ensure that it works properly at all times. Therefore the installation of a good quality computer room air conditioning is vital to any business.
A company that chooses to install wall mounted or portable units are not only controlling the room’s temperature but also helping to keep humidity levels down to around 55%.
Should humidity levels exceed the recommended about along with possible damage to the data stored in the computer the actual cases themselves will become damaged as well. Too much moisture and this can eventually lead to the computer cases corroding and rusting. So this is another reason for why the installation of a computer room air conditioning system is important as it will prevent such damage happening.
When it comes to the installation of air conditioning in a computer room what sorts of units should be selected? In this article we offer some advice on the types of things to consider when making such an investment.
Tip 1 – When it comes to deciding what kind of air conditioning to get for your computer room is to remember that it should control the temperature in the room not just during the day but also at night. The equipment housed in these rooms create huge amounts of heat as they are running constantly and although the central air conditioning system you have installed works well in the offices it won’t provide sufficient amounts of cool air that a standalone system in this room can provide.
Tip 2- As well as thinking about the money needed to be spent on maintaining the system also think about how much it will cost to have any emergency repairs carried out. Although a properly maintained system shouldn’t fail without any notice there may be occasions when it does. So as you work out your budget for this equipment factor in the costs for it to be maintained, for emergency repairs to be carried and for parts to be replaced.
Tip 3 – When you are thinking of putting air conditioning units in a computer room you would be much wiser to invest in portable units rather the kind that get mounted on walls. As well as these costing less to purchase you will not be faced with the additional cost of installing them. Another benefit to using portable units is that they can be moved easily around a room so the cool air they produce can be directed exactly where it is most needed. But along with being inexpensive to buy portable computer room air conditioning units cost considerably less to run than the other sorts.
As you can imagine, there are a number of factors to think about when looking to buy some computer room air conditioning for your office. There are some advantages to purchasing specialised air con units as opposed to a normal unit. For example you can calculate the exact room size and what size of unit you need.

Many animal lovers have had their dog’s hair suddenly start to fall out and sores appear. This disease, mange, is very contagious to other animals and needs to be treated immediately. When humans get the disease it is called Demodicosis but is usually cured quite rapidly. The disease is caused by mite infestation can causes loss of hair and other problems. In looking for treatment for this condition it is important to try to find a way to cure mange with non toxic mange medicine.
There are different, specific types of mange mites. The Red Mange Mites, Demodectic Mange Mites (which infect cats) and Scarcopic Mange Mites. The latter type is the most infectious. The severity of the infection in dogs is usually shown by loss of hair in a small patch of skin or on the majority parts of the body.
The mange areas can become crusty and even bleed if the animal continues scratching. It’s obvious that some treatment program must be put in place if a life threatening condition is to be prevented. Veterinary care can be very expensive when the condition reaches this stage.
There are a number of treatments available for consideration. One used by many veterinarians and which can be used at home is the Mitaban Dip. This medication is approved by the FDA, comes in concentrated form and just needs to be mixed with warm water. The animal is then bathed in a medicated shampoo with the dip following. However, it has been found that this dip is toxic to some dogs and can cause severe side effects. When this happens, even more medicine must be administered.
If the condition has become too severe and is life threatening it will require intensive treatment by a veterinarian. In this case antibiotics, oral medications and Amitraz Dips may be given. Again, these treatments might cause a reaction by the animal and must be closely supervised.
Records show that the oldest known and very effective, treatment for this disease is dipping. When treating the animal in this manner usually an anti-bacterial or anti-itch shampoo proceeds the dipping. Dipping takes some time and effort but a check of the Internet will find peoples’ testimonials of various home methods that worked when all else failed.
People have written many of these testimonials claiming that the combination of borax, peroxide and warm water have worked in curing mange. In these cases, they used the dip method and left the product on the animal until the next shampoo. There are also many other mange products commercially advertised on the Internet. It’s always a good idea to talk to someone before trying any unusual treatment for something as serious mange.
Seeing a pet suffer is one of the most difficult times in a person’s life. When it has a disease, such as mange, it is apparent that they are in utter misery. One wishes to bring about a cure but, at the same time, does not wish to initiate treatment that will cause even more problems.
