Dust can decide to settle on any part of the house in thick layers in no time at all and the funny thing is that one might not see where it came from. It is only that not everyone loves dusting.
What is real is that it keeps you dusting away every day without fail; so the only thing worth adjusting is how fast you can do the dusting. Here are a few tips to make you work faster.
Know that if you are going to do the dusting, the best method is to work from the top to the bottom, meaning you will start with the cobwebs on the ceiling, to the shelves, and then lower to the tables and the chairs.
Using the vacuum cleaner on the floors will help. This process is formulated from the reality that dust falls and settles down when stirred up. So as you start doing the cleaning and dusting, the items at the lowest level down will still get dusty if you start the other way round.
Another method is to make use of a wet cloth while dusting instead of a dry one. Dry cloth will only serve to stir up the dust instead of collecting it the same way a wet cloth would.
Making the cloth a little wet helps to wipe things clean but do not make it too wet. A dirty cloth should be replaced by a second one.
Using an air filter can also minimize dust particles but non smokers also experience less dust in a room than the smokers do. Another way is to keep opening your windows and airing the rooms constantly to reduce dust.
If there are too many small items lying around, they may increase dust, so reduce the clutter. If too much dust has settled on an item it shows that you have not been using it so get it out of there.
